Christian Joerges (Bremen):

Research Professor at the Collaborative Research Center’ Transformations of the State’ and the Centre for European Law and Politics (ZERP) at the University of Bremen. He was previously professor of European economic law at the EUI and co-director of ZERP until 1998. His main research areas are the Europeanization of economic and private law, transnational risk regulation at European and international levels, compliance and legitimacy problems of transnational governance and anti-liberal traditions of legal thought in Europe. In recent years his studies on the constitutionalisation of new forms of governance in Europe include with growing intensity phenomena of transnational governance.
